Abstrak
This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in improving student learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subjects at Al-Islam Krian Sidoarjo High School. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with data collection through questionnaires to 33 students and 2 PAI teachers. The results showed that the majority of students felt interested and motivated by the application of PBL, and recognized an increase in understanding and learning outcomes. PBL encourages students' active participation, improves critical thinking skills, and creates an interactive learning atmosphere. However, challenges were also found such as some students had difficulty in discussion and understanding the material, and teachers faced obstacles in time management and developing relevant case studies. Optimizing PBL requires the role of teachers as facilitators and innovators, the use of digital technology, and continuous training for teachers. The findings are expected to be a reference for educators and schools in implementing PBL more effectively to support student learning success.
